Exernal Enclosure: No drive letter after installation (2)

Problem:
The Enclosure has been installed correctly as USB MASS STORAGE DEVICE.
Under "DISK DRIVES" the new HDD shows, but no volume information can be retrieved.
The Disk Drive does not show up in the DISK MANAGEMENT (Windows 2000/XP) or FDISK (Win9x).
Therefore no drive letter can be assigned.


Solution:
The HDD inside the enclosure needs to be set to "MASTER" mode.

Usually you can set the mode via Jumpers, in most cases a description of the jumper settings is printed on the case of the HDD.
