USB Hub: Hub cannot be installed or does not provide enough power

Problem:

"The hub was installed correctly without any problems as a 'Generic USB Hub'.
Devices such as Camcorders or Scanners connected to the hub do not work and you get the error message "USB Hub Power Exceeded" in Windows XP."


Solution: Use External Power Adapter, 5 VDC, 500mA

The hub cannot provide enough power to operate devices which require a large amount of power. An external power adapter (not included) must be used. Any universal power adapter (5 VDC, 500 mA from RadioShack) will work.
