AMCAP Application: Video is saved without a file extension

Problem:

"When I record an AVI file to the HDD, the file which is stored has no extension ".avi". When I double-click the file, the video player does not start."


Solution:

When you click on FILE -> Set Capture File you need to enter the file followed by ".avi".
Instead of "filename" you need to enter "filename.avi".

This problem is caused by a bug within Microsoft's AMCAP Software.
